چکیده
Skin grafts may be used for coverage of facial defects in situations which alternative methods reconstruction, such as local flaps, are not an option. They also beneficial patients who wish to avoid or good candidates more complex reconstruction. Full-thickness skin often have a better color and texture match adjacent when compared split-thickness grafts; however, lower metabolic demand increased survival rate. Composite very useful the repair with unique contour support requirements, nasal ala eyelid. With all grafts, thoughtful planning sound surgical technique critical achieving best possible functional aesthetic result.

Cultured composite skin grafts for burns.
Banked allografts offer a prospect of immediate wound coverage Each year more than 10 000 people need admission to hospital in England and Wales for burns.' Immediate excision and grafting in patients with extensive burns is thought to improve survival-a hypothesis supported by retrospective studies of both children2 and adults,3 although not confirmed by a prospective study.4 Early grafting wo...
متن کاملSkin Grafts and Flaps (compromised)
Rationale Hyperbaric oxygen (HBO2) therapy is neither necessary nor recommended for the support of normal, uncompromised skin grafts or flaps. However, in tissue compromised by irradiation or in other cases where there is decreased perfusion or hypoxia, HBO2 has been shown to be extremely useful in flap salvage. Hyperbaric oxygen can help maximize the viability of the compromised tissue thereby...
متن کاملEvaluation and comparison of composite and split-thickness skin grafts using cutometer mpa 580.
BACKGROUND In our preliminary experiments we found that composite skin grafts consisting of allogeneic acellular dermis and thin epidermal autologous grafts applied to the excised burn wound in one stage led to better results in terms of viscoelastic properties than autologous split-thickness skin grafts. PATIENTS AND METHODS In ten burn patients we applied composite skin grafts consisting of...
متن کاملPreputial Skin Grafts
Although skin grafting originated 2500 to 3000 years ago, it was until the 19 th century that this technique was again introduced as a reconstructive option. While 19th century surgeons used grafts to repair their most difficult cases, skin grafting has since evolved into a modality that is routinely and sometimes preferentially used for the surgical repair of skin defects [1]. In this chapter ...
